Everyone is telling me I'm going to have twins. But when I went to the doctor, he only heard one heartbeat. Could it still be possible that I could be having twins... I did not have an ultra sound yet. I wont get one till I'm 20 weeks.... Could it still be possible? Have anyone ever experiece this before... I would love to have twins and I'm still hoping that I will have one.... but the doctor only heard one so, I'm kind of bummed.... I'm still excited though to have my baby.. I can't wait...

I don't think you're having twins. You should have had at least one ultrasound by now, mostly to confirm the pregnancy and check for multiple sacs/fetuses. If the doctor didn't say twins, then that means it's not twins. I don't understand why "everyone" else was convinced you were having twins.

Honestly you can miss the second heartbeat... sometimes the other baby hides behind their sibling and you can only detect one at that time. But I wouldn't worry about one heartbeat right now until you have the ultrasound... you are not sure if you are even having twins.. so the only thing to do is wait it out dear.. patience is a virtue... lol

I think the chances are pretty low since the doctor only picked up one heartbeat but it is possible. It can be hard to find two heartbeats. Why is everyone telling you you're having twins?

Its possible. Likely, no, but possible. One heartbeat can mask the other. People think its cute to have twins, they are a lot of work, and frankly not for everyone to handle. Plus, it puts your pregnancy into the high risk category. Why wish for that? If it happens its a blessing, but still. Best of luck though!

If there is only 1 heartbeat you are very likely not having twins...twins can sometimes have simultaneous heartbeats and one twin can hide behind the other...but more than likely you're just having one.

Good luck!

everyone said i was gonna have twins too, but just one little boy in there.

why do you think there might be twins? are you measuring large?

the doctor would probably suspect twins if you are measuring large for your gestation and would probably go ahead and call for an early ultrasound to find out.

Is probably just one baby. It seems as you have no medical proof that you are having twins so most likely you are having a single baby.

everyone was telling me that it looked like my belly was too big for just one baby. all they are judging by is the size of your belly. the dr has technology that detects how many fetus's there are in the uterus. so unless the dr told you it was twins, you shouldntve gotten your hopes up. sorry! but still, enjoy your pregnancy, and take it easy!

Well, it's possible, but not likely that you will be having twins. Technically, you should have had your first ultrasound at 12 weeks ( a vaginal one) and that would have told you then.

well, it is possible if he stopped looking for a heartbeat after he heard one. You can rent your own doppler (a medical strength one). I rented one from bellybeats.com and I listen to the heartbeat whenever I want. They are excellent
