Hey folks,
does anyone know where I can get good, sturdy fountain pens from?

I really don't want anything expensive from the likes of Cross, Mont-Blanc, etc...

It depends on what you define as "good" and "sturdy" of course, but I've always found Hero pens to be outstanding value for the money, and a great dealer of them to be Norman at www.hisnibs.com. Definitely worth a try; for not too much money, I'll vouch for the Hero 58. A friend liked them enough that she gave them away as gifts to her wedding party... and stole one of mine!
