We were told that no LIVE birds were being imported yet 38 tons of partly processed turkey meat was being delivered every week from Hungary. No-one confessed that little item. DEFRA and Matthews are said to be working 'Closely together' on this one. You can say that again.

People should make their own minds up. If we knew exactly what went into meat, poultry and dairy produce, and in what quantity - would we still eat it?

Its all over the news that if cooked properly, infected poultry poses no risk, and yet still we fear it. But for years we have all been eating "infected" products - that is, meat that has gone through the mechanical process, pumped full of antibiotics and chemicals.

Because the media have told us we are scared, we all become scared. Why havent the media suggested we should be scared about how we are pumping ourselves full of toxins and putting ourselves at risk of cancer and other diseases? Because to my mind that is equally - if not more - worrying than an as yet non-existant risk of catching a strain of flu from birds.

There is no need to panic. What makes us think that Turkey meat from one country is better than that from another. Its easy for us to sink back into our stupor state of " Ours is the best". A silly mantra. Point is did we say that when we were riddled with foot and mouth? Remember when even India banned our beef? There are bad batches of everything including Turkey meat.

We should not give our brainwashing dept more ammo than they already have. Headlines tomorrow: STANDARDS IN HUNGRY ARE NOT AS GOOD AS BRITISH . Please I cant take any more.

I guess I should be thankful that I only get meat from the local butcher. :-) Ya know I live in a state with tons of turkey farms. Why do they need to get meat elsewhere? I don't particularly like the fact that we are importing any kind of meat/poultry.
I would venture to guess that curtails FDA inspection and regulations. YUCK!

Got a question if it is partly processed turkey meat it would mean the bird is dead right.
That is the first thing you do is kill the bird in processing.

I have nothing to worry about as I don't eat meat. The sight of those poor turkeys dead in those trucks breaks my heart. The only consolation is that they are at peace and free.

there is much much more to this than we are being told. we are deemed to be to stupid to be told the real truth, remember mad cow disease, they said it wouldnt get into the food chain and it wont be for many years untill we see the results of that lie. i for one will not be eating any more chicken just to be on the safe side.
