this is her first month on the pill ever, and she's been discharging a brownish pasty discharge, and her bloodflow this month is way heavier. should we be worried? what should we do? is there any way to stop the discharge? she's aenemic, too. if that makes a difference.

If she is anemic, please get her an iron supplement. The synthetic hormones in the birth control pills could be affecting the tissues lining the uterus. This would account for a heavier flow. Please watch her for other symptoms, along with this discharge: swelling, pain after the menstrual cycle is over, fever. If she has any of these after her cycle is finished, this would indicate a serious problem and she needs to see a doctor. Please urge your girlfriend not to SMOKE while on the pill. The chances of heart attack within a short time are way underemphasized by doctors and commercials.

Its not real uncommon to have the brown discharge because old blood will do that. She should, however, see her GYN

her body needs to adjust to taking the pill. have her lay on her back with her feet up and put something cold on her belly. talk to the doctor.
