This happened in our kitchen. We eventually got rid of the rug, and after a long period of time, and regular mopping, the stain is gone.

Some types of rubber backed throw rugs discolor and stain linoleum permanently. Chemical reaction between the rubber and the vinyl. Only recourse is to live with it or install new. You can only lighten the area sometimes by rubbing Soft Scrub with Bleach on the area and letting it set overnight, clean well the next day with plain water.

Putting a vinyl/rubber backed rug down before the floor is absolutely dry will yellow the floor. I know this from experience and unfortunately, I don't think you can remove the yellow.

That is not a stain, it is actually a permanent issue. You need rugs that won't yellow the vinyl.

I also have a 50's bathing room; pink bath, pink and grey tile. the rest room became replaced out and is white. the shallowness became painted and we replaced out the right. I play it up. I even have black and white striped wallpaper and the border is black and white w/pink handbags. I also have a white bathe and save it pulled to disguise the pink bath. The window topper is white. I even have used quite some black and white accents interior the bathing room and it appears that evidently super. attempt going with white for the curtains/bathe curtains. severe-high quality shiny crisp white. Paint the partitions a mild creamy yellow. accessory with bits of the golf green and yellow. you could pull it at the same time and make it seem such as you meant to try this. beautify unfashionable in case you like. i'm guessing that's Avacodo green which became very enormous interior the 70's. or you will desire to disguise the yellow floor with slightly or carpet. are not getting discouraged. you would be able to make it seem cute! good luck!!! P.S. eliminate the tan! Make it pop with bits of pink; soapdish, towels, and so on.

it is a chemical reaction between the vinyl and the rubber coating on the back of the bath mat.
unfortunately, there is NOTING that will remove it. trying to clean it will make it worse.
buy a non rubber backed bath mat.
