I'm pretty sure it is. I can read people like a one-gigabyte stick of ROM. Thus far, my powerful brain has blasted me through college and created for a me a steady but determined path to the top
for my career.

Lately I've been wondering what the best use would be for my brain. Right now I'm a computer programmer, but maybe I'm in the wrong major. Given my unique ability, it might be put to good use as a presidential campaign manager.

What are other potential careers for a person who can read the minds of others?

I see a bright, but limited future for you in the adult entertainment field.

OK -- I have decided to treat this as if it were a serious question.

The following careers might be good for you:

1. Professional Poker Player

People reading skills combined with the ability to calculate odds can make you a lot of money.

2. Psychiatrist

Granted, you would hav eto go to Medical school for this (or -- alternatively - get a graduate degree in Psychology & become a psychologist.

3. Salesperson.

4. Professor

Being a software developer doesn't need a lot of people skills (in fact, they often get in the way).

This is one of those rare to find great questions where one actually gets a sort of a laugh and snorts upon reading it. Where the naivate comes through loud and clear.

You think you know people but there is always someone who knows just as much as you but can temper it with reality. The I am superior attitude never works in the upper reaches of any profession. The ability to not sound elitest and work with all people is the key to life.

Computer programmer? It says it all as far as lack of social skills and the inability to actually run a project. Campain manager...... that again reqires social skills.

LOL, fun question, but I would say there's no way to waste your brainpower if you enjoy what you're doing. However, many programmers I know aren't really people people at all, so I don't know if you would really enjoy that type of environment for long. Maybe law, marketing or public relations would be a better fit base on what you said. But if you're also very smart in addition to being able to read people, maybe you should get into research for either digital security issues or try to find a cure for cancer!
