You could try buying mounting board in bulk and cutting it down yourself for the cheapest option... ArtSuppliesUK have Mount Board on sale, 10 A1 sheets for £37.18 - assuming you're getting 16 A5 drawings out of each A1 sheet, and there are 10 sheets, that works out at 23p per A5 mounting. Try them at http://www.artsuppliesuk.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/206

You could also call Carters Mounts - http://www.cartersmounts.co.uk/ - and see what they can do for you - the greater quantity you buy, the better the price.

Try searching Craft-Fair portal's listing on Frames and Mounts - http://www.craft-fair.co.uk/suppliers.cfm?SubCatno=120&category=Frames%20%26%20Mounts - they might have someone near you, to save on shipping, or you might find a company having a sale...

HobbyCraft stores do framing and card - you can find your nearest store using their store locater - http://www.multimap.com/map/places.cgi?client=hobbycraftsf - although I can't promise it'll be under £1 each.

If the worst comes to the worst, you could try good old eBay - a search for 'mounting board' brought up some well priced A3 boards you could cut down.

Good luck!
