It's most definitely a group effort.
The way I see it, divisions of party, race, political affiliation, etc. are arbitrary and artificial. We are ALL Americans... gays, straights, Democrats, Republicans, christians, muslims, etc. Most people don't CARE about those things. Most people just see each other as people. Most people are concerned about working, going to school, raising their families, in other words, they focus on what they need to do to live from day to day. And if you worship a different God than me or choose to love someone of the same sex, or have a different opinion than me on a topic, how does that affect me fundamentally? It doesn't. I think anyone who uses fear and lies to try to tear down a specific group or blame them for our problems is more instrumental in tearing down our American values than anyone.

I think the last two generations (X and Jones) have very little interest in our culture or values. Not excusing the "Me" or late baby boomers either. I think; It's all about me and hippie parents, they're the ones who taught the X's and Jones.
Fortunately, everyone grows up and becomes a republican or democrat (which isn't very important) and believe they have to vote for a cause (which is important)!
When you get right down to the nitty gritty: Respect is the lost equation! No respect, no values. We see the country broke and politicians throwing punches in the senate and on TV. Were do you think the young people get there values?

Middle and lower class demands that they be treated as social and professional equals. I know that's a horrible thing to say, but when you look at in retrospect of the last 150 years it seems to be true.
If someone wants your opinion, they'll ask you.
Don't give unsolicited advice, no one likes a know-it-all.
Basic stuff.
Or: If your child knowingly, willingly kills another human being for whatever reason, would you be the one taking them to the police? I would.
Parents that have this just love, love, love the child and they will grow up the way they are supposed to be. These are people that may have the physical maturity to have children but not the mental or emotional maturity. You can love you child all you want, but you need to teach them the difference between right and wrong and that it cannot be bent or twisted to their will at the time. You must train up a child in the way that they must go.
End of rant.

A prime example is the two border patrol guys who got thrown in prison for doing their job.The Inspecter General admitted he lied saying they had conspired to shoot the illegal.Johnny Sutton, prosecutor, kissed the a$$ of the smuggler carrying dope into our country inviting him to come back to the US to testify AGAINST our guys. He offered him amnesty, citizenship and a $5mil lawsuit against US. Someone on the news mentioned something about the Vincente/Fox election securing the votes of Hispanics. Now that's getting hard to believe if allegedly two candidates were so desperate the would send 2 decent officers to prison(and they have since gotten beat up in there) to gain a govt position. No Democrats stood up for these border patrols but a hand full of Republicans started a petition for a investigation to this madness. The head border patrol thought it was a great injustice and said at the MOST they should have gotten 5 days w/o work, as is the NORM. God help us. Pres wouldn't even give them a parden but did to drug smuggling guys.

The evangelical/fundamentalist Christian right who represent 40% of Bush's support. Many Christians are fooled into believing the born-again style of Christianity looks anything like theirs. The Republican party has also been fooled into believing there's a war on Christianity-which couldn't be farther than the truth. Evangelicals and conservative Christians believe in judging others while most Christians believe only God can judge. I thought American values consisted of tolerance & acceptance of our melting pot society. Instead, the many follow the far right to intolerance and hate.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Göring while in his jail cell during the Nuremberg Trials[7]

Those that are way too politically correct, the way out there libeal and way too conservative, can't find the middle bunch that want to tax and control you. Anybody who wants to tear down true family values and replace it with perversion and pedophiles. Anybody who would violate the Second and Fourth Amendments. That's who.

it's not a person, the decline of family values is a direct result of the economy and 2 parents working. like who is raising the kids? So with that in mind the kids that were raised on their own, raised their kids in a similar manner, without a value system, and that brings us to today's world, where we know the government[our leaders] are crooks, pedophiles, thieves, money mongrels, marriage cheaters, so who is to blame...we all are

Those who don't really know what THEY believe, but are so very easily swayed by someone they think they admire or who should know more than they do. They are the danger as they become the angry mobs & puppets who follow blindly anyone who sounds like they know what they are doing. Bottom line you need to know what you believe and why. Thanks for asking! Good question.
