hi,

i have windows media player 11 and i have downloaded some avi files, the problem is they will play in wmp and i can hear the film but i cant see it, i just have the vizualisation moving with the sound.

im pretty sure i have all the right codecs ( its never popped up saying i havent), ive installed xvid which is what the file is and i downloaded a free trial of nvidia platinum but to no joy!

also it wont open in realplayer, it says "some portions of this file cannot be played".

i'de really appreciate some straightforward help as i really want to watch the films but im not very techy!!

THANK YOU!!
:)

www.divx.com get the free player this is what avi plays in best.

When you have downloaded the player open it then go to File then click add File to library find the avi file hit add then in divx player hit all videos and the list of films you have added will be there click on film you want and it will play right click brings up option like play pause or full screen

Try the FREE K-Lite Codec Pack. It's got almost every codec you'll ever need and it comes with a Media Player.

Get a proggy observed as Video Inspector, it is going to examine the AVI and ley you comprehend wich codec you want, it factors you with the link to obtain too! or get a Codec %., i dont like them because it is going to set up different software that you cant unisntall devoid of loosing the codec, thats why i obtain each and each codec human being. wish this helps
