What were the mistakes that Russians and British made and US has avoided to remain a super power?

We really haven't avoided them. It's mainly because we're a younger country than Britain, and a capitalist country unlike the USSR. They both ultimately lost their superpower status because their massive military budget was destroying their economy and causing them to go in debt. The US is taking the same path as both of these nations, and will ultimately fall behind to China. It happens to all of the great empires (e.g. Rome).

No nation can remain a superpower for a long period of time, because the military budget required for that status drains the economy. Britain had to sacrifice it's military because of it's failing economy. USSR collapsed because it couldn't continue to spend all of it's money keeping pace with the arms race against the US. The United States will lose it's superpower status once we lose our ability to borrow from other nations in order to pay for our large army.

How the US is "Ruling the World" (your description) is really a matter of opinion. I personally think that the US has positioned itself to be an economic super power with no real backing for our own economy.

When our government uses catch phrases like; deficit spending, GNP or, my favorite, trade imbalance they are deflecting and ignoring financial issues that have international implications. An example of that would be China, they have the power to ruin our economy because our dollar is worthless. Based on the trade we do with them, if they wanted to change their monetary values and dump all the warehoused dollars they have, the US would go into economic ruin however, we would take half of the civilized world with us!
That's how I think we have the power.

The British didn't make any mistakes, they simply have a problem being too careful in the last 75 years because they've lost so much colonial rule. The Russians; They were too busy being the USSR (the big soviet block), which eventually fell flat.

OMG what a completely stupid question!

The USA has not "avoided" any mistakes - it has made more than Britain, Russia and every other country put together!

It rules through sheer brute force like a big school bully who everyone else is afraid of because he's twice the size of all the other children. But eventually the littler kiddies will all gang up on him, realise his weak spot and kick the crap out of him.

Take heed America.

They are ruling by banging the drum of War against terrorism and capturing countries. Where they can not bang the drum they just brain wash them by media. Once super power britain now wags his tail behind US what a sorry state.
They are repeating the same mistakes none avoided. Just the same bully attitude.

Our time will come, unfortunately. Great Britain got the name Great Britain back in the day when it could have the sun rise and set at the same time somewhere on its territories.

Russia isolated itself and enforced an economic false bottom, but it is defintely making a comback with its efforts into globalization.
