Do you agree?

I agree, and this is a sad fact. I believe that the reason people are afraid to say "I don't know" is due to the fact that America is a society of people saying "I want my answers and I want them now!" Because of this attitude, saying "I don't know" is frowned upon and when you admit your lack of knowledge, you are almost automatically viewed as stupid and/or incompetant. If I don't know, I say I don't know and I do my send the person in the direction of the answer they seek. Even though I do this, I still can't help but think that the asker of the question that I didn't know the answer to is thinking that I'm dumb.

People shouldn't be afraid to admit they don't know something. If you don't know, say it loud and say it proud: "I DONT KNOW!"

Remember, being smart and intelligent doesn't mean you know all the answers. It means you know where to go to get the answers. :)

This is true. But the funny part is that a lot of people that you THINK know what they are talking about, don't. They can make it look good but all you have to do is ask a question. WHAM! They can't answer you. I've learned to ask questions. You'd be surprised how many people can't answer you. Then you know who to believe and not believe. You know...who is full of it. And in asking a question or saying you don't know, then you may finally be told an answer. Unless, of course, they TOO don't know. ha ha. Funny how that works...

Absolutely! Some people will even go to great lengths to make something up just to have some kind of answer. Crazy. I will admit that there's a lot that I don't know.

I do agree. I think most people would rather seem to know an answer than actually admit they don't know.

Sad.

I would rather have someone tell me they don't know, than make something up.

Interesting question...

Well.. A lot of people can say it, but many hesitate especially infront of someone they want to impress. But the truth is: no one knows everything. So don't worry!

I say "I don't" because really, "I don't" I don't drink, I don't do drugs, and I don't drive. I do have a reason. Its medical. I do smoke.
But you are right, they do look at me like I am a liar when I tell them, "I don't."
