The Masai in Africa subsist primarily on a mixture of cow blood and cow milk. The Masai are humans and NOT vampires. I always figured there was direct tissue perfusion without digestion for vampires. You should calm down they are a myth it's like how did the Starship Enterprise D manage to accommodate a crew of 423 with only one public restroom? ya just don't need to know this stuff to enjoy the story.
