I guess some animals just can't change their stripes!!!
I don't know that they've ever been totally domesticated, but a lady that lives in an area near me has a pet zebra. She runs a shelter for any type of animals that have been abused, neglected, etc, and it's run primarily on donations. When the zebra was younger, she used to take it to local nursing homes for pet therapy for the residents. However, she had to stop taking him because he got too big, but not because he was too wild.

It Takes a long time to Domesticate Animals. Horses were Domesticated in about 4000 BC and by the time we would be able to Domesticate Zebras the world will be destroyed by Pollution and everything will be dead.

Horses have been domesticated over hundreds of years - it would take that long for zebras to become the same.

horse have been domesticated for a long time, zebras- no. you could domesticate a zebra, but it still has some wild traits. things would take a long time. the best horses suited to humans evolved, while the horse unsuitable to humans got killed for meat, or got shot

Zebras are just naturally ornery. They can be trained to some extent (in circuses for example). But if you've got a horse, why would you want a zebra? Why bother with the centuries-long process of selecting for a domesticatable temprement?

A zebra just aint a horse. It's a wild thing. Horses have been bred by humans for hundreds of thousands of years. Same basic rule applies to African elephants. They're just wild and mean.
