It's difficult to find baby names to suit both tastes but there are way more names for baby girls than for boys. And there are plenty of resources online that are free to help you choose. Like, babynamefinder.com and thinkbabynames.com.

But, the best site for finding popular names over the years in the U.S. (and looking for less common ones but that are still traditional) is the Social Security Admninistration website (www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ ). They have all the names recorded from 1880's to present listed by rank. You can search by year or by name and find it's popularity over the years. Basically any name under rank 200 is traditional enough it will probably satisfy your husband's concerns and if you go back far enough in the years, you can find something that is unique today. Good Luck!

You could choose a name that is unique that would give your girl a nickname that would be okay with your husband.

for example
Kataryna - Katy, Kat, Kate, Kathy
or Cate is spelled more uniquely and is still common.

Amelia - Amy

or a name that is a still little unique but is becoming more common or rhymes with something more common
Like:
Justyna
Saige
Jasmine
Kendra
Kassandra

Good luck.

Isabella is quite common.

More common-seeming names that aren't all that common:
Charlotte, Jamie, Marie, Mia, Brooke, Jane, Lia, Juliet, Margot, Susanna, Raquel, Vivian, Miranda, Jacqueline, Adriana, Diana

Our daughters name is Ella. I was going to name her Mia or Simone. Simone was my Grandmothers name. Do you have a unique name in the family that can be passed down or what about your nationalities? Have you looked for names under each of your nationalities, you can find some good names that way too!
Good luck!
