No.
They used to be fried in beef tallow (which is rendered beef fat), then they were fried in vegetable oil after consideration for trans fats became an issue.

First all the answerer HUTUB........ I raelly wish people would just post a link instaed of cutting and pasting.
There is no beef even in the oil. In fact they have just changed to an oild that has less transfats and are swithing in some places to zero trans-fats.
Once upon a time many restaurants did use beef fat to fry things because it made it yummy. Kind of like years ago people used Lard instead of crisco to make pastry. Yea the pastry or fried things were ten times tastier but with ten times the fat.
So this is why some people still think beef is in there somewhere.... some vague memory or urban legend.... something they heard once.

In India Mcdonalds does not make use of any beef products. however they use beef in other countries
From our Guide to Fast Food: In February 1997, McDonald's informed us by telephone that the natural flavor (see above) in their French fries is a "beef product." At that time, they declined to send us this information in writing. In July 1997, McDonald's sent us a fax stating that "[t]he natural flavor used in French fries is from an animal source

Natural beef flavoring is in the fries, contained in the frying oil.
I think there was a big stink about this from vegetarian groups maybe last year, but McDonalds has not changed the ingredients.

Not the fries themselves, but the oil they're fried in is flavored with beef.

No. It's only made out of natural potatoes. They deep fry it in oil and add a little salt to it. That's all. It's really delicious. My mouth is watering at the moment.

If I remember correctly, they are coated in some kind of beef flavored additive in order to make them addictive. I heard that years ago, so I could be wrong.
