I bought a psp from my roomate (2.71) and successfully downgraded it to 1.5. What I didn't know was that the psp had a serious malfunction. When I would close the UMD door or move it a certain way it would freeze up for about 10 seconds, then turn off. It would come on back on (green light, blank screen), but it wouldn't boot up unless you moved it (shook, very subtly though). It did this for five more times, and now it turns on without booting up. A psp tech told me is was more than likely a bad connection on the motherboard, he told me I could freeze it for 2-3 minutes to see if it would turn back on (freezing shrinks motherboard together). This didn't work (still behaves the same). I want to get it fixed, but I don't want it upgraded to the latest version because you can't downgrade, or play games like Marvel vs. Capcom (1.5 only, through memory stick). Sony will more than likely upgrade it, can anyone else think of an alternative?

1. Return the PSP back to your roomate and ask for the money back since he sold you a broken PSP.

2. Have someone else other than Sony to fix it.

3. Sell it on Ebay and use the proceed to get another PSP.

you can downgrade them, they have cracked even the most recent 3.11 so dont worry about that. get your psp fixed and then you go back to homebrewwing and fun.

relies upon whats incorrect with it, for example in case you took it interior the tub with you i do not imagine they could fix it... in case you inserted a disc and a spring flew out and all of it fell aside then they maximum probably may fix it for you. in case you tried to flash an unofficial firmware to it then your screwed.
