it all depends on the quality of brakes you get. you can get the pads from between $50 to $120 per set.
call your local auto parts shop and ask for priceing on shoes and rotors. they'll be able to give you an exact quote.

also, unless your rotors are cracked, have the parts store measure them to see if they can be turned. this wont cost nearly as much as new rotors and will work good as new.

Brake pads at Auto Zone from $15 - $53

Rotor for anti-locking system $40.99

But you ALWAYS turn your rotor when changing brakes. If you go to the store they may charge $5 - $10 to turn them. Price varies for region of US. Anyway, if they can not be turned then you have to buy new ones. They measure them before they turn them and let you know. So you do not pay and then find out they can not be turned. If they are turned you pay when you pick them up.

Quality of brakes depends on what you want to spend. I find buying the cheaper brakes was better for me. You see online on ebay for my 98 Chrysler Van, I bought some brake dust covers for $40. Now my wheels look good ALL the time. Why waste money on brake pads that are dustless, when you can get the difference and buy the cheaper pads. In the long run, I save big money. Like the Front End Alignment I got done at brake check. $100 for the first time, which is expensive, But LIFETIME alignment now. So the second time, I break even, Then the third time, I start saving the money. All if you live in CALI and come to Texas and your brakes go out. If you bought from Auto Zone, they just put it in the computer and get your replacement brakes. they are nation wide now.

John
If it takes you 4 hours to do a set of pads, you need to sell your tools........

The hardest part is removing your tires, start to finish, looking at a 1 hour job.
