I have a cablevision cable made by Scientific Atlanta. I think I lost the cablecard, what you stick into the box, and I don't want to pay for a replacement. Is there anyway I could get my cable back without it? the box has a usb port if that helps.
Thanks Gdot

The cable card validates your digital service. Bite the bullet and call Cablevision, tell them you lost your card and need a new one. Yes, you'll probably have to pay for the replacement, but at least you'll get your service back.

The only other thing I can think of is just plugging your coax directly into your TV and just watching whatever analog programming is available. But then you're cheating yourself out of the digital channel you're entitled to.

A card should not cost you more than $10-$20 and they may even send you one for free.

Without a card you can only view the unscrambled channels.
