Hey mjstarprojekt,
Just dance, interpret the music, make it inviting, but don't let them touch you. Do it slow at times, then speed up. Practice before you go. Have something in mind, including the music.

Well if you went to an amature night or an audition (which you should have done if you are working in a club) you should have an idea of what goes on.
If you are working a hustler club, work your *** off. Do what the other girls do, but don't follow them around TOO closely. Make sure you use the internet to gain a little knowledge before you go it. Make friends with the DJ. Do NOT use the pole if you don't know what you are doing with it.
IF you are trying to work parties, please, PLEASE, make sure you are with a safe, good company. Do not just do it on your own. The customers WILL take advantage of you, and unless you've taken a large amount of self dense classes, you will have no say in the matter.
It's a hard job. Do not get into it if you think its fun or sexy. It's a job, and one of the most difficult, emotionally and physically.
Remember that it is a job. The people will say some crappy things to you. Do not take it personally. The people will do some crappy things to you. Get over it-- if you dwell on it too long, you will go crazy.
You will come to realize that you are just one of the girls. If you have something against men, it is a way to get back at them... a bit. You are, after all, taking the money that they should be paying for something else with. Keep that in mind... the harder you work, the more you are hurting them. If that helps you get through the first night, then go with it.
As for dancing, do what the other girls do. Soon, you will be able to come up with your own stuff. Do not be afraid. You will never see these people outside of this club/party place again...
Perhaps I went a bit too far into that.

HAVE FUN! Feel the music, and enjoy it. Enjoy yourself, and enjoy your job. Have fun with it. Put yourself in their shoes, how would you want someone to dance for you?
