What is the best/fastest way to travel from Rome to Athens?

We will be traveling in Mid July 2007!

Flying is the fastest, of coarse, but I find the train more fun and relaxing. Also, a bit cheaper.

Flying by Alitalia, Olympic Airways or Aegean Airlines (the latter seems to be the cheapest if you book well in advance)
