My daughter is 5 months old, and uses the Gripe Water for gas. It works great and has made all the difference with her. I am wanting to prepare for teething. Lots of her friends already have teeth, so I know it is coming. I know there is baby Orajel, Motrin, Advil, etc. Does anyone know about the Hyland's Teething Gel? It is all natural, and says "no side effects."
The ingredients are:
Calcium phosplate, chamomilla, coffea cruda (coffee) and belladonna.
I am just wondering if this is even effective? Safe? Any thoughts?

I have used both the Hyland's Teething Tablets and the Teething Gel. I prefer the tablets to the gel. Both work well though. I used them for all three of my kids. I've even taken them myself.

A friend once contacted Hyland's to ask about the Belladonna. A child would have to ingest *8 whole bottles* of tablets in order for it to make them sick.

Sticks of celery are great for teething babies. Also, try keeping a metal spoon in the freezer or tying an ice cube up in a baby sock.

Personally I don't use homeopathic remedies. Gripe water isn't homeopathic by the way, it is a naturopathic if anything.

A naturopathic treatment is cloves. You can either make a tea from whole cloves and freeze it on face clothes. Or you can get clove essential oil and dilute it with olive oil. Check the dilution on the inside of your own mouth it it is too strong it can burn (feeling not literally). Only use a small amount of the oil as it is quite strong. Clove oil is the main ingredient in many temporarly fillings so it definitely works.

Belladonna can be dangerous but at homeopathic dilutions (that is to say there is probably none actually in the gel or there might be one molecule in the whole tube) it is safe.

it really is early, yet nevertheless probably. they could commence teething very early, and then have it flow away and are available back. Motrin is the superb alleviation in words of medicine, that's purely all round extra effective for mouth discomfort. except that, a chilly washcloth, I used to moist them then freeze them. My youthful ones did not use teething earrings both. there is not a lot you are able to do, stay faraway from teething biscuits, they are complete of sugar, undesirable for brand new enamel. in basic terms carry close on, teething isn't interesting for each person, even though it does bypass.

Seems to me that the ingredients are calming effects for teething. But if you don't feel comfortable giving your baby something that you don't know much about, this is what I did..bought teething rings and put them in the freezer. Or if you don't want to buy teething rings, cold clothes, in the freezer (until frozen) and let the baby chew on that. It is fun to watch them...this way it is safe, and you know that it will work, and it will limit you from buying things that aren't really necessary. My grandma did this, my mother did this, and I did it. It works like a charm. Good Luck!
