So what is it, is it our "freedom" to continiously become more ignorant and self-centered, and less courteos? Is it our disturbingly high crime rate, or is it our decline in overall education and intelligence? Is it our "freedoms" to allow ourselves to be spoon fed by big corporations and trashy celebrities on how we should live our lives? Is it our "freedoms" of how we can't do anything or develop new ideas ourselves without being heavily taxed? I'm just wondering what "democracy" and "freedom" it is we're defending and attempting to spread to others, what it is these "terrorists" and "extremists" are resisiting? And for a nice summary, ( and potential 10 pts.) I would love to hear some of your defintions about what you think freedom really is, and what it means to practice it. People are being duped into dying for it, for us, and people are being killed by our defending it, guess it would be good to know what some of you think they are spilling each others' blood for.

People use their freedom everyday by posting questions and answers on here. And know one is after our freedom. They could care a less about that. Freedom is being able to say bush is the biggest idiot ever to occupy the white house and not have to worry about someone breaking down my door and taking me away.

Freedom is what everyone enjoyed to the max before being politically correct came into the picture. People are now expected to let government and special interest groups shove things down our throats that we cannot abide.

To me it appears that we are slowly losing the true American spirit of freedom to accomidate everyone who now enters this country legally or otherwise.

I truthfully do not believe that our nobel military knows what is actually happening over here, otherwise they'd probably demand to come home...and I would not blame them.

Life has not been the same for quite some time, with many of the changes taking place after 9/11. From alternative lifestyles to having to accept the thousands of debates of what is right for everyone in this nation.

Let us put it this way...A supermarket cannot carry absolutely everything a customer has need of or even wants. The store is only so big, right? Well, I feel the same is true for the US. The Constitution holds open many possibilities, however, it can only be amended so many times before it becomes a 'pointless' piece of paper without regulation or authority. There are 27 Amendments to our rights, and I don't believe our forefathers thought that every new person coming over was going to have an absolute say in what they think should be changed.

Yes, this is America...and that's the point, isn't it? To want to be in the United States is a grand desire, but this is OUR country and should remain so. If people want to come here, they should do so under the impression that they will live by our rule of law, and not what they think it should be to make life more convenient for them. These only scratch the surface of the problems here. Everyone wants their own way...and there is a demand that people should always change for others. It is my sincere belief that if people want to come here, fine...but English is OUR language and not the reverse. I'm not going back to college AGAIN to learn another language. If they want to be here, learn our language. America was founded on Christian principles, therefore, don't try to change it to Muslim or Islamic. Although I totally respect everyone's belief system, don't try to change what American's find important to them and do not try to take away that which our forefathers created, said or did and do not concern themselves with our religious reminders. It is not for them to judge...this IS OUR LAND, not theirs. Would we go change their religous beliefs? Can we go to their countries and make demands that their government give us jobs, 7 year abatements and welfare money or even open ended Visa's or Green Cards? NO..we cannot do that.

Basically, this is how I see things. I just get tired of how we are 'told' by the goverment and special interest groups what we should do, how we must think and accept their way. I won't ever swallow that. This country has changed dramatically and not totally for the better.

Why are we spilling blood...it's simple...they're trying to 'force peace' around the world. It's not for oil or land...just peace. But if these people don't want it....then let them fight their own battles and bring our troops home, ALL of them, to protect our borders.
