I think that for both of them (male and female) are not mature enough to respond for any possible consequences, either pregnancy or STD.
(BTW sex only after marriage its only one point of view, not necessarily have to wait till that. )

I think it's becoming more and more common. And I think these kinds of steps and decisions are the individuals choice. However, having sex is a huge responsability that childred of that age are not really ready for. And it's apparent that they arn't because of how many of them are coming up pregnant or diseased.

it's a real problem in our society, very sad... never heard of anyone who had sex younger than 18 who didn't regret it, people really need to learn to wait until they are ready, and have the right person to do it with. Don't know why so many kids are so anxious to lose their childhoods, and that doesn't even discuss the whole diseases and pregnancy issue...

Both males and females, are not ready emotionally for sex at that age, it really can screw up their lives.

not at all uncommon. unfortunately that means it is a regret many of us seem to share. i can't think of any of my friends, both men and women (all in their twenties and thirties) that haven't said at some point that wish they would have waited at least til they were out of high school.
