Using words to say what they want (mine, outside, no, yes, milk, more, water...) , running a little, jumping a little, putting things away after they play with them, looking at books and naming things in the books, saying some of the numbers between one and ten, using a paint brush, taking off and putting shoes on, putting on a hat, helping others with little tasks, using crayons on paper, using stickers, stacking or building with blocks, noticing cause and effect while playing, etc...
These are things to work on and your child may not master all of them at this age.

My son turns eighteen months tomorrow and this month he has learned how to walk backwards, stand on his tiptoes and walk, he can concentrate on a task for about two minutes before he loses interest. At this age they should have a lot of single words, but my son does not. He has four of five phrases and a handful of words, but that is it. The main thing that a parent needs to know about their child's development is that each child develops at their own speed. Just because a book says a child should be doing something at a certain age, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is a problem if your child isn't. Enjoy that baby. Terrible twos is just around the corner.

Your son ought to were off of his bottle previously, the present advice via pediatricians is not than 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, usually starting up at round 10 months. on account that he's refusing it at evening now, take advantage of his refusal and end weaning him from it. He actual ought to not in any respect were given milk in a evening time bottle except you're brushing his teeth proper after that. you ought to were brushing his teeth a minimum of once daily with toddlers' toothpaste, via how, once there are a minimum of two by skill of. provide him a cup of milk with each and each meal. some little ones have an a lot less stressful time with the straw form cups extremely than the actual sippy cups. be careful with the sippy regardless of the reality that. they could promote teeth decay resembling the bottles reason toddler bottle mouth. a similar pooling of liquid takes position on the bottom of the teeth, so verify he's not sipping in any respect of it day, purely food/snacks. At 17 months, you do not decide on to be too aggravating about his intake of milk. provide it, yet when he refuses it verify he's getting his calcium in cheese, yogurt, and different nutrition wealthy meals. solid success!!
