that president Bush made it so the speakerof the house, after 9/11, had a military jet provided for them to travel in, as he felt they were at a risk of terrorist attack. This has already been done before. We never knew about it before there was a dem in that position. SHE HAS CHANGED NOTHING. SHE HAS ASKED FOR NOTHING. The house sergeant at arms has requested her to be able to fly non stop to her home in CA, as a safety measure, the same safety measures that the previous speakers have had. NOW, you know the facts.

no, his plane would NOT do that, which is why the house sergeant at arms (the same one as Hastert's) requested it. Denying facts does not make you right, although the thumbs up you received is a good indicator of the intelligence on this board...

It is geography that requires a larger plane. She requires the same as Hastert...to get home non stop. Bush has found this to be good for security, THAT'S WHY! Man, thick skulls out there...I guess when you have nothing else to attack, you make crap up, right cons? And I DID acknowledge Bush's support in a question of mine yesterday, and a couple of answers today. It is the CONS making this a partisan issue!

You're right, this is all true. It was all over the papers and the news last night. The house sergeant at arms is the one that ordered the larger aircraft too.

Actually, you are only partially right and are missing a couple of facts. It is true that a military jet was provided to Speaker Hastert. The controversy seems to center on the size of the jet. Hastert, apparently, flew on small commuter-sized planes. A 757 has been requested for Speaker Pelosi.
In either event, the military has indicated that she will be provided what is available at the time.

Thank you for pointing this out. The right is just getting up in arms because they are mad about the fact that they are no longer in control of all 3 branches any longer and they want it to look like the Dems are asking for a lot more than is really true!

Pelosi herself, yesterday, said that she'd be happy to fly with her family on commercial flights, but DAMNED if she'd be put on the back of the bus and receive anything less than Hastert.
Pelosi.......finally an HONEST American servant of the people!

Bush has said it is a good idea for her also, what gets me is there is no liberals defending Bush on his agreement with the whole thing.
