lots of possibilities!!! god bless rovers!!

Well try and charge your battery and find your way through the electrical system as the immobiliser not working could be down to a lack of power....could be loose cables or anything like that. Also the key fob may be faulty electrically as well and not producing the required signal.

Best bet if you ask me is to go find yourself another Rover at a breakers or if you can find one at a parts place dedicated for over and buy a 214 Si ECU and key fobs because it could be anything!!

The other thing i forgot to mention is that it may very well be your ECU that has damaged itself as they very very very often do!!!!

hope this helps!!

I think you mean the' immobiliser' wont turn off using the key fob?
In which case the engine wont turn over at all.
I also assume you aren't in any breakdown door service?
Call in an auto electrician!

hi,if you remove the battery from the remote, then press lock and unlock buttons about ten times, then replace battery if this does not work then carry out the procedure again, also you should have a key access code which will allow you to unlock the car with the key and start the car,see your handbook about this code.

checked your timing belt aint snapped?
Rover 214's are also well known for blowing head gaskets for fun, check the belt though, before you keep cranking the engine
