Hi ladies... Odd question, but I'll ask it anyway: Did anyone have the ability to "sense" or "just have a feeling" about when your labor would start? Or did you have a really bizarre sign that labor was about to start? I'd love to hear your stories!

For those who have said that your mother knew when you would go... I hope you're right because my mom predicts that I won't make it more than another week!

Thanks for the great replies. Keep them coming! :)

Hi there - good luck with your labour .. not long now!

Yes i knew i was going to go into labour. the night before. We had moved house and the baby was not due for over a month. however 2 weeks later (3 weeks early!) i had "nesting" instincts - i cleaned the entire house, sorted out and got organised - i just felt the urge to do it! and the next morning i woke up in very early labour - so i went downstairs and did the washing up while gently swaying to encourage the first stage to do a good job of opening the cervix! by the time i went into hospital to have my baby i was well in towards the middle/end of the first stage. An hour later i felt the switch into the second stage and a different sort of contraction - these lasted about 45 mins or so and then my daughter was born! it was beautiful. i have to say that i really enjoyed it. :-) My son, my 1st preg. labour took much much longer as i was so uptight and worried - i decided that was not going to happen again, and i listened to my body and used my intuition. u do the same and you'll know when your lil munchin is on the way!
good luck xxxxx

I have also asked a similar question, i am 37 weeks and dying to know when the big day will be. I went into labour a week early with my first baby and like your first answer my mum knew to. She said she just had a feeling and turned up at my home and sure enough that very night i went into labour and had my daughter the very next day.. Weird huh! I have felt all the way through this pregnancy i would be early.. around the 38 week mark so i have one week left. I'll keep you posted if my feelings were right. Good luck anyway and hope it is soon for you.. Charlie.

Yes, with both my pregnancies I just had a feeling that I was going to have the baby soon. Especially the second, I knew I was only days away and I went into labour 5 weeks early. So it wasnt that I was due soon so I just expected it. My first son was two weeks before due date. I had a really heavy pressure feeling in my groin area. It was easier the second time because I had already experienced it before. Although the whole time of my second pregnancy, I had a feeling that I would go into labour early. My stomach dropped at six weeks before due date and they say that doesnt happen in second pregnancies until youare about to go into labour. I saw my doctor on the day I went into labour, in the morning , and told him that I felt it would happen soon, he said that wouldnt happen and was very dismissive, probably because It was too early. But sure enough, later that day, my water broke! Doctors dont know everything. There is nothing like womens intuition.

My son was born the day after his due date. I had absolutly no idea I would be going into labor.
But my mother that moring woke up (before I did) and called her work saying she wouldn't be going in. She had a "feeling" that I was going to go into labor that day. And sure enough I woke up and went into labor. To this day she has no idea how she knew but she did.

I dunno a few days ago I told my sister I ddn't think I'd make my due date or even the next week but today its been a week so I guess I was wrong. No one thinks I'll make it to the 20th. I'm really hoping labor will happen today.
