I give my girlfriend a lot of attention while I'm awake. I'm considerate and thoughtful...and I really love spending time with her.
We don't fight much and when we do we both are able to really rationalize and resolve our differences effectively. However - When we go to bed, we may cuddle for a little while , but when it's time for me to actually 'sleep', I need to roll over in my own little space and not be touched or have her laying on me. ..otherwise I can't fall asleep.

When I am asleep she say that I push her away when she tries to cuddle up to me. I'm sometimes even woken up.
She is upset in the mornings and says she doesn't like sleeping with my because I'm 'cold'. I can't change the fact that I need some space to sleep.
She says she tries to ignore it but she still gets upset that "sleeping-me" doesn't give her attention.

I feel this is ridiculous. What do you think I can do to resolve this issue?

I have been married for ten years now and my wife and I have had the same issue...and still to this day bring it up every once and a while. She has come to grips with reality that I do love her, but I like to be extremely comfortable when I go to bed! We sleep on a California King bed as I like to have my own space when I sleep. Your girlfriend should understand the same...it sounds like if she is not getting any better even after you explain yourself and how you like to sleep...well then, perhaps she has some insecurity issues that she needs to deal with. Good luck with that!!

Me and my boyfriend are the same way we both need our own space to sleep. Every so often he will ask to cuddle with me before I fall asleep and I say sure. If I fall alsleep then I am good like that but most of the time one of us gets to hot and has to move to our own space. I think that she needs to get over this it is not something that you should have to fix. She should be happy that you are home every night when she goes to bed to many people these days are not.

I would say that maybe you should try to expalin to her how you feel... and tell her that you are just not used to it... all your life you have slept that way and you cant just change over not... tell her its not like your avoiding her because if you were you wouldnt even cuddle with her at all... to get her to shut up just say i'll work on it baby ok... i just need to adjust to this for some reason.

that is silly of her - I had a similar problem, my hubby liked to cuddle, but his body hair tickled and itched me, so I explained my problem and he now doesn't cuddle me when we're sleeping - she should respect your need for comfort and not be so selfish, sounds like you are being a good mate, she should appreciate you more...
