Clint Eastwood has spoken out against the war in Iraq. Does it matter to you?

Just because someone is a celebrity doesn't mean they don't think and can't have a well informed opinion. When people say that, it pisses me off more than some dumba** celebrity going off at the mouth ever could (not calling Clint Eastwood a dumba** though). It only bothers me when a celebrity, or anyone for that matter, acts as if their opinion is instead fact and claims certain things without having adequate information on the subject.

I don't know about Clint Eastwood, but all celebrities right now seem to have a platform. It makes sense. They go to these locations for their films. They're exposed to these experiences in a profession that studies and discects the human condition. How could they not be changed?
So, yes, I care, because I am a student of the human condition myself. I, however, don't have the money to go to a country and help. I respect when they do that.

In my opinion, this is where you draw the line. Celebrities consist of actors/actresses, singers, athletes, etc. Where in there job description does it say that they can express their political/social views when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. They should just stick to their regular occupations while people who are experienced to voice an opinion, with an ounce of logic and credibility, can do their job to the fullest without some no brain celeb whining and complaining when things aren't going right.

Nope, I do not care what they have to say. Doesn't sway my opinion on the issue at all. Have had 2 children there--now their opinion matters to me. They both were positive on the issue.
I have always heard and said that the best people to give advice on raising children were those who have none. It is the same with lots of things.

none of us like war and eastwood is allowed his own opinion and i don't care what he says or what he writes. period.

if a celebrity speaks up on a subject that interests me THEN of course, i like them more than before.
if a celebrity speaks up on a subject that i deem as disloyal to our country and to our international interests, then I don't have to buy their songs or watch their movies.
simple logic;, free speech is what our soldiers continue dying for and free speech isn't necessarily free because their are always price to pay for every action there is a reaction .

No...I don't care, freedom of speech they are just people too, if they want to publicly state their opinion go right ahead. Just cause they share their opinions doesn't mean you need to follow theirs.
