Have you tried putting a canopy above the dish to prevent the snow from falling onto it?

I shouldn't think the snow on the disc would be a problem. Otherwise I wouldn't watch tv for 6 months. But if it's snowing heavily it can disturb the signal.

This happend to us yesterday cos the snow coverd the sensor thingy (the white thing facing the disk... yeah i know all the technical terms, lol) . We used a broom to gently brush the snow off it and it worked fine after that.

CAREFULLY climb onto a ladder & spray the dish with Pam, Mazola or other nonstick cooking spray. That'll keep the snow from sticking & your signal should be better.

I had a similar problem... I took it off the roof, put it in the garage and now we just rent movies... most of the shows on now are cr*p anyhow.
