Sounds like you're referring to the psuedoscientific relationship between the Pyramids at Giza and the constellation of Orion. Note the use of the word "psuedoscientific" because it's really just more hyped up BS that they often show on the Discovery Channel.

The stars you are refering to are the three that make up Orion's belt. They match up with the pyramids of egypt. The names of the stars are (left to right): Mintaka, Alnilam, Alnitak.
