It's hard to come up with a totally original plot nowadays. I found that to be true with my own writing. I look at it and get happy thinking that I came up with the ideas, so it's original right? But then a friend reads it and tells me that it reminds them of a movie, book or whatever he's/she's read, then I just go crazy.
But even so, it's not plagarism. You might as well say that Disney plagarized Hamlet for The Lion King.

Well let's think of it this way...a lot of movies share similar plots and story lines, but they twist them enough that they are not identical.
