There are so many different positives about Ohio..
The change of seasons..
You can drive from the country to the beach in a short period of time.. or even visit the past down in the Amish Country..
Good luck in your college search!

Hmmm, that a tough question.
Growing up near Cleveland and being in the northern part of the state, I can see many great things about Ohio. It's not as hilly as PA, but still has Amish country. There is such a diverse group of people here. Cleveland has Little Italy and other ethnic neighborhoods. We have the Cleveland Clinic and the Cleveland Orchestra (one of the best in the world), touristy places like Amish Country, the R&R Hall of Fame, Inventors Hall of Fame, COSI, and other museums. Most major cities also have Zoos with all sorts of neat animals. All seasons make the land so wonderful to look at, and we get all temps thoughout the year from 0-95 degrees. Summer festivals are usually happening like the Duct tape festival in Avon or Maple Syrup/Strawberry/Corn Festivals throughout the state. Each county has fairs every year. There are many park systems to see a variety of wildlife. I went to Hiram College and we swore the black squirrels there were the original GEIGO car crash squirrels from the commercial. There are deers, rabbits, foxes, beavers, raccoons, and maybe a few wolves. Technoloigcally we have NASA Glenn Research Center working on rockets and such. There's Akron, Cincinnatti, Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Cleveland, such nice places to visit, each with their own histories, some involving famous people like Carnegie and Rockefeller. Wooster has it's rubber and Akron has it's tires. Plus there's the best Amusement Park in the world, Cedar Point, along with King's Island and Geauga Lake parks. And then we're a state with islands in Lake Erie like Kelly's, Put-In-Bay and others. Taking a boat and driving around in a golf cart on an island is a great summer day. We have major sporting teams like the Indians, Reds, Cavaliers, & OSU.
So to answer your question...I can't pinpoint a favorite aspect of Ohio, it's all good. Of course, I'm sure other states all have great things about them as well.
For a tourism booklet/info about Ohio I'd call 1-800-BUCKEYE and they'll send it to you for FREE.

depends on where about in ohio and weather or not u have children. some parts are better then others, i grew up in cleveland and as aperson wiht no children i liked it for the most part, i like the city life, being able to walk to the store and stuff, but since i have a child now i hate it and will never live there ever again. the crime has gone way up and the school system sucks, which i know cuz i graduated from cleveland schools. i now live in a small town country setting and love it, just miss the city aspect of cleveland though, i cant just walk down the street cuz there is no sidewalk all dirt raod, i love living by the amish however, there so friendly. I do like that there is litlte chance of bad natural disasters like tornatoes and such except floading which we got hit with last spring. hate the snow however. good luck

I love Ohio State football, and I wish the Reds and Bengals could pull it together, but the thing I love most about Ohio is being FROM there and not LIVING there at all.

To be able to say I am a Buckeye (a worthless nut). I used to live in Cleveland and I mostly hated it but now I live in a small town of Cambridge, Ohio and I love it.

i like the diversity of it...it's so varied, depending on where you are. You have a great lake, four large cities, dozens and dozens of colleges, several huge museums and amusement parks, etc-
and then you have the countryside and the beautiful flat open land near central and southern ohio.... the sunsets in that area are amazing.
really, you can get the best of everything in one state- and i think that's the best part.

Diversity of people, places and activities. You can be in a "hip" urban setting in Cleveland/Coventry one minute, then an hour outside of Cleveland proper be totally in the "stix" with opportunities for camping, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, etc. Plus, cost of living here is dirt cheap compared to most areas, with many opportunities for employment.
