The Goods: It's a place where undercarders can make it to the main event. It's like the televised indy of WWE where people can grow and develope their craft. It's also a good place for people who just didn't make it over with the regular WWE status quo to perhaps capture a new audience.
The Bads: It's tarnishing a legacy. Not that ECW was that prestigious to begin with, but it's made it's contributions to the industry, and shaped the way a lot of things are these days. Don't get me wrong, Andrew Marten and Gene Snitsky are okay wrestlers, but what do they have to offer us other than a big boot, back acne from sterioids, and a pumphandle slam? The reason they didn't make it with the mainstream audience is because they were buried by Vince. Test could've been in Triple H's catbird seat if they had continued to push him in the direction he was going at the beginning of his WWE tenure. Gene Snitsky has the look and intensity of a monster, but he was reduced to a foot sucking joke.
New ECW does more good than bad. It takes money out of Vince's pocket, which I'm sure he's not happy about, and it's burying the hardcore legends of the original ECW by turning them into the New Aged J.O.B. Squad.
To summarize my full hatred for new ECW, I'll close with this; I had no clue Snitsky even debut in ECW, why? Because I was too busy watching WSX to notice.

Look if you are expecting the old ECW then you are right to be dissappointed, but if you step back and look there is some tremendous talent on the ECW roster. You have Kevin Thorne, who has improved greatly since his time on Smackdown, Elijah Burke, who should be on Smackdown instead of MVP, Monty Brown, CM Punk, Trinity, and my all time favorite diva/vixen/hottie Ariel, just to name a few.
ECW needs more than an hour a week to really do well and mae the storylines really work. Stop jobbing the originals and let them go do there thing in the ring, and in the process help develope the younger talent. Get some better writers. Vince wants to use ECW to make Lashley look like a monster. Thats all wrong, just give it back to Paul Heyman. Heyman knows how to make it work and put over the guys that Vince wants and not hurt the other talent in the mean ime.

ECW is probably the worst wrestling program on right now. How can it be ECW if every match is not under extreme rules. Why is there a WWE star as champ while the ECW originals are pushed to mid-card status. When will Sabu be ECW champ. Where is the ECW TV title and Tag belts. The program is horrible and should just be dissolved and have the roster split between the other 2 shows.

It is what Vince always thought of ECW as a third company back in the 90s. He had no respect for it, and this piece of **** he is trying to sell us proves it. This is Velocit-CW not ECW. If WWE really did recreate ECW, they would run it in the old ECW territory, not as a warmup for Smackdown. I have read that the only reason ECW is still around is bc of the tv deal WWE has to fulfill for SciFi. It is being used to build up and prepare Lashley only. All the other "extremists" are just jobbers, including sadly CM Punk. I see CM Punk heading over to TNA if WWE doesn't realize what a treasure they have in him.
Another talent that is too good to be on "ECW" is Joey Styles. WWE brings him in to replace JR, but then they tell him to change his style of calling a match, the thing that makes him the only person that is a suitable replacement for JR. He is then put on "ECW" and forced to put over people like Test and Mike Knox. Guys that are about as far away from being ECW-like as you can get. He has to set there and watch the on air assassination of the careers of true ECW wrestlers like Sabu, RVD, the Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer. Guys that should be respected, not thrown around by a 7 foot giant oof. I will be so glad when this **** is off television.

The current ECW is nowhere near as good as the original ECW was, but there's a lot of potential in the "new blood" of Kevin Thorn and The Alpha Male as well as the straight-edge C.M. Punk. I think the biggest problem right now is there are too many established superstars and up-and-coming stars-in-the-making for a one-hour show. If they can't expand to 2 hours (like RAW and SmackDown), some of the established stars should be working to push the youngsters to better careers (much like Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow did for Spike Dudley years ago).

It has been going straight down the crapper since day one. Vince McMahon's ego won't allow it to suceed. He also won't let anyone who was a star in the original ECWget over simply due to the "Not invented here stigma".
It's also far too wimpy and clearly marketed to the tweens and Cena fans. Exactly the kind of thing ECW was originally against. No weapons, no blood, no high spots. Just like The Invasion in 2001 he is just bringing it back to crap allover it. This new watered down ECW is little more than yet another opportunity for Vince McMahon to fellate himself at the expense of the talent.
Watch Wrestling Society X instead.

It's Heat meets Velocity. There's nothing to compare it to the original ECW. I'm just hoping this Trump storyline leads to him buying the brand and making it something close to what it was.
