You're singing must be incorrect. If you sing correctly, you're voice won't get tired. Maybe you'll get tired, 'cause it takes the whole body to work while singing. It could be also that you don't breath intensive enough. I advice reading some literature on how to sing or do some breathing exercises. But if you're throat hurts after a while of singing it's an indicator that you're singing is wrong.

It sounds like you're not quite in touch with your breath support mechanism, and so are pushing or forcing your voice from the throat.
If you think of the breathing mechanism ( the back muscles just over the kidneys, as well as four sets of muscles in the belly and flanks) as the motor of your car, and your larynx ( voice box) as the clutch, you'll understand what I'm referring to. If you don't turn on the motor of your car, you'll only be able to roll forward a couple of yards at best by engaging the clutch.
Please get yourself some singing lessons! A good teacher will help you ease out of the tension mode you are in.
It takes some time and patience, and above all, awareness. the more you pay attention to how your body works, the more you will be able to achieve without hurting yourself.
Good luck, and keep at it!

Practice singing while using your stomach muscles to provide the strength for your voice. You won't tire as easily, and that's how you are supposed to do it.

Your voice is like a muscle. You need to exercise it all the time...
sing scales to improve your range. Keep your vocal chords wet.
The more you sing the more you CAN sing...

sounds to me like you're singing out of your range. it's possible that you need to sing lower, as in deeper. if you try singing in a lower voice, you won't crack as much.

you are straining your throat, i used to do the same thing before i became the frontman for my band.
basically what you are doing is pushing your throat to produce sounds, which usually leads to inadequate volume and throat pain, you need to sing from your stomach.
