No STDs in my experience.

I used to own a salon (with tanning beds). We used very powerful (commercial-grade) disinfectants after EVERY use. I would have to spray the acrylic and wipe it down with a fresh/clean towel every time.

If your tanning salon is a good one, they will be doing the same. You can ask the attendant to disinfect the bed while you watch them do it, for your own peace-of-mind.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, because if people started getting STD's from tanning beds, you would've heard that on the news or something, and they'd lose popularity and be shut down. So long as you clean them before you use them, I don't see why there would be any risk whatsoever.

next to no chance of getting an STD from a tanning bed

Unless of course you are doing it on a tanning bed with someone that had an STD

As long as you clean the beds with disinfectant and/or respectable cleaner, as opposed to diseased bodily secretions, you will be fine. Not many people take the time to clean it before each use, so you are well ahead of most others.
