Ancient Egyptians were indeed Black Africans. Archaeologists have discovered, by examining their cranial structure, that they were a mixture of what we would today consider Black and Arab. They were mostly Black. The Greek were not Egyptians, they did not even arrive to Egypt until mid 300 BC, well after the Pyramids which were built around 2500 BC. Many Egyptians of today are also black but what we see in the media are the "whiter" Egyptians whose are a mixture of many races. Yes, they are Egyptians because they have been there for generations but they are not the descendants of the ancient Egyptians who were Black. If you look at the features of the Modern North Africans such as the Somalians and Ethiopians, you will see that have facial structure very similar to the Egyptians in the hieroglyphics. You don't have to have a wide nose and stereotypical "*******" features to be *****. There are many groups of Africans who do not fit the stereotype. People just readily categorize all Africans with the ones from Congo. Some scientists have even gone as far as to try and classify North Africans as "Caucasoid" because they defy the scientific definition of "*******" which is not defined by skin color but by facial (cranial) structure. It’s just an attempt to dissociate Egypt and North Africans with so called "Sub-Saharan" Africa and whiten the Ancient Egyptians. But even common sense tells you that they were Black. Sudan is Egypt's neighboring country and it is no question that the Sudanese are Black. A few miles to the north, however, and the Africans miraculously are no longer Black.

Well, the Egyptians are different from North to South. They come in all colors. It is quite unlikely that African Americans came from Egypt. There are records of which countries in Africa are ancestral to our brothers and sisters here in America. The debate about the racial make up of Egyptians is passionately going on- but simple deductions show that the proximity of Egypt to Europe, the Middle East and the south of Egypt itself proves that it has been a mixture for a long time.
By the way, Egyptians are not all that they're cracked out to be.

There is no doubt that Ancient Egypt ( or its real name, KEMET) was and will always be a Black Empire. Forget the paintings that are left on walls in temples, and what's shown on the discovery channel because millions of them fakes and lies. Go to Kemet and look at the statues. Thanks to Napoleon most of the statues are missing their LIPS and NOSES. And this is not because of weather erosion either, but because of Napoleon's cannons. He had to hide the fact, from future European generations, that such a great empire was built by blacks. Now why did Europeans wanna do something like this. Well, for one, to make a name for themselves, and to hide the truth so that they could conquer. Now we all know what Europeans did to achieve power, it's no big secret. But what, still far to many, black people must realize is that what Europeans did was not wrong. They had and have the right to survive by any means necessary. It was never white people that enslaved blacks, but it was blacks enslaving itself. By the time Egypt became a great empire, hell, Babel( Gelemesh) and Sumeria had come and gone, and they two were black empires. Black people had already fallen out of The Almighty's grace because black people became arrogant. It's very hard to tell a black man, who has acquired power, what to do. He sticks his chest out and the big vein pops out of his neck, and you can't talk to him.
First of all black and white people need to STOP comparing each other to each other because their is no comparison. We have been told and lied to about being the same. We are not the same...get over it. On a cellular level, and that is where it counts, we are very different. People need to start respecting each other for what they are and not for what they want each other to be.
Many black people are proud of being black, and that's good. But once you really get into this existance you will learn that when refering to black or white it's not about skin color, but about MIND COLOR. There are some Asians that are more black than black people. They will die for the rights of black people and poor people reguardless of skin color. And you have some black people that are more red neck than the backest of the back woods hillbillies. And then you have whites that love Asia more than millions of Asians.
Whites, for the most part, and a select group, has lied to the masses and said that Kemet was and is whites. And they were suppose to to keep others in control. But who is the fool, the one on the corner selling number two pencils for $500 each or the ones buying them? Hell, if you Bi Ble(buy bullsh**) they will sell Bull Sh**.

Love it, babe. Keep it up. You'll get answers dissing blacks AS USUAL. These people are so pathetic. It actually makes me feel better about myself. I mean, I must be something special for people to try and take away everything that's positive in my race. They want to believe blacks are all good for nothing druggies with one foot in the penitentiary. But you and I know that our people are warriors, always have been and always will be. We've always had to deal with this utter bullshite from the racist pricks in America. I really wish I was born somewhere else. I'm getting so very sick of it all. British..yes. Those people are more intellectual, indeed. They make fun of Americans and for good cause. Most of us are laughing stocks because of our irrational ideologies. I was in Canada last weekend and you must know, it's so very different over there. I was in a fullblown Celtic bar where people were stomping the floors and beating the tables. Had a fabulous time and no one treated me bad or looked at me funny because of my race. Screw em all. It only makes us stronger. I embrace dissent. Keeps me on my toes.

there are actully plent of depictions os black (very dark) egyptians. They just dont show them in your history books.
I think geopraphy is the best indicator that the Egyptians were African. As Egpyt lies on the Nile river which flows out of inner Africa.
But Abysinnia is correct power in Egypt changed hands often, and the periods that we are most familiar with are after the greeks, hyksos, ect came.

Why are blacks have been having such an identity crisis. I have noticed that the majority of blacks (mostly female ) here at yahoo don't want to be considered black. Didn't James Brown say it correctly or was he wrong. I realize there is still a lot hostility towards blacks and their physical features in America today. But that shouldn't make them want to be mistaken for another race or culture.

Why all the debate, Most of us Asians have always considered them black- because of the lips, skin colors, culture, geography too. This is coming from someone who is niether black, white, or mideastern/medditeranean.
