Historically, germany was created of the territories of different tribes, the most
important were celtic and germanic.
The germanic tribes,originally from Scandinavia (north of germany)
moved southwards and pushed the celtic tribes further south.
In the big migration of nations after the fall of Rome 400 AC. slavic tribes moved into the east of germany
Among the different ribes are the Bajuvariens (south),franconians
(west, close to france), saxons (east), frisians (north)
Other tribes were the Teutons (who gave germany its german name (deutsch) and Alamans (hence the french name for germany Allemagne)

You see, there is no singele ancient german race even though nationalists say so.Germany is composed of a number of different tribes
