I recently started taking Loestrin24. I am on the second week of my second pack and absolutly no bleeding has occured. I took a preg test and it came up negative. I've had a dramatic weight gain that i can not get rid of and my breast are HUGE. I feel sick when i wake up in the morning and feel queasy all day long. I feel a slight pain/pressure in my stomach and lower abdomin that has been there for about a week or so. I plan to take another preg test in about three days just to be on the safe side. Is this just normal side effects and is there anything else i can do?

Birth control can give you all kinds of side affects. If it is making you gueasy then what you should do is when you take the pill make sure that you take it with food. That should help with that.

Did you have unprotected sex since going on the pill? It takes more than one month for the pill to kick in and your body to recognize the hormones and not ovulate. The hormones in the pill have a few major side effects, like weight gain, nausea, and cause your breasts to get bigger. Once your body regulates itself with the pill, these usually subside. If you have had sex without a condom or another form of barrier birth-control you need to take a pregnancy test. Take the test in a few weeks though, because even if you are pregnant right now it is too early to register on a home pregnancy test. Wait until a few days after you miss your period. If I were you I would take a test even if you do have your period, just to be on the safe side.

Most side effects of Loestrin 24 Fe are not serious. The most common are nausea, vomiting, bleeding, or spotting between menstrual periods; weight gain; breast tenderness; and difficulty wearing contact lenses. These side effects, especially nausea and vomiting, may decrease or subside within the first 3 months of use.

It sounds to me like you could be pregnant. Go to the store and buy a digital pregnancy test, these seem to have the lowest sensitivity out of any HPT, also it takes the guess work out of it, it tells you Pregnant or Not Pregnant. I would also suggest calling your Gyno just in case something else is going on, like an infection.

You very well could be pregnant. Or the hormones in Loestrin are having a negative side effect with you. Call your doctor and tell him what's going on.

When I switched to another birth control the same thing happened to me.....My boobs were huge!!!! I go tired of them being so big and hurting all the time and feeling sick I just got back on my other birth control after a few months.....I would say its normal, your body is just trying to get used to the birth control....Good Luck!

i think that you should talk to your doc he or she will probably change your pill. some weight gain is common but only 4-6 lbs. i sometimes heard that your breast size does increase. but as for your other side effects i don't those are to normal.

Sounds normal to me, that is what birth control does to you:( Make a doctor appointment just incase though. You are probably just stressing yourself out about it though, just relax.

i would talk to your doctor, and see if maybe you should be on a lower dose of BC, your hormones could be off the charts trying to get use to it.
