Doesn't she know she is a Blue State Woman???

Why did the Democrat force the new fly rules into the Democrat Patroit Act. Congressmen flew from Dullas on commercial flights for 50 years. Why did 9-11 Democrat change the rules to provide security to senior Government Officials

Why Why Why

Well, if Pelosi is so hell-bent on environmental issues, we might ask why she should have a private plane at all? Doesn't she practice what she preaches or is it "Do as I say, not as I do?"

Why shouldn't she be entitled to the same privileges as Dennis Hastert? It's a matter of position not party affiliation. Also, since the illegal aliens were checking our baggage on commercial flights and the government didn't want to enforce our immigration laws, they decided that the lives of senior government officials are more important than the safety and security of ordinary citizens.

One other thing. Maybe citizens won't want to fly on a plane where some of our senior officials are flying -- they might be considered huge targets by all those illegal alien baggage inspectors (and possible terrorists) and therefore instead of offing just the politician, they get to off the whole airplane. Isn't that their sworn objective, to kill all Americans?

I'd rather these senior officials fly on small government charters than fly with them commercially. I don't want to be anymore of a target than I might already be.

Isn't that something, somehow the Democrats controlled Congress all this time and they only thought of themselves and were so generous they named Denny Hastert from the opposing party as Speaker. How benevolent of them.
Denny Hastert was able to get his fat a** unto military jets because the Democratically controlled White House mandated it after 9/11 for security purposes since he was 2nd in line for the Presidency if anything god forbid happens to the President . How sweet and thoughtful of them. That Patriot Act that the Democrats crafted was just so selfless that it had to include more security in the face of the attack on the homeland. It is just too bad that when the opposition comes to power they will get the privileges the Democrats only want for themselves. The opposition party members wanting equal treatment, how rude of them!

Some things are mandated by law, and many of the perks of office are hers as they were Hasterts. It is the Office of the Speaker of the House that has them not the person in the job. Hastert also had a jet, one that got him home in Illinois without a refueling.
Before 9/11 and during and up until January, Republicans ran the Senate and the House of Representative, so as to why, ask them.

It would behoove you to get your facts straight before posting such nonsense. This story is false. The House Sargeant at Arms made the request. NOT Pelosi. The statement released by the Sargeant at Arms yesterday:

For Immediate Release

February 8, 2007

As the Sergeant at Arms, I have the responsibility to ensure the security of the members of the House of Representatives, to include the Speaker of the House. The Speaker requires additional precautions due to her responsibilities as the leader of the House and her Constitutional position as second in the line of succession to the presidency.

In a post 9/11 threat environment, it is reasonable and prudent to provide military aircraft to the Speaker for official travel between Washington and her district. The practice began with Speaker Hastert and I have recommended that it continue with Speaker Pelosi. The fact that Speaker Pelosi lives in California compelled me to request an aircraft that is capable of making non-stop flights for security purposes, unless such an aircraft is unavailable. This will ensure communications capabilities and also enhance security. I made the recommendation to use military aircraft based upon the need to provide necessary levels of security for ranking national leaders, such as the Speaker. I regret that an issue that is exclusively considered and decided in a security context has evolved into a political issue.

Pelosi adressig the non-story on Fox:
They told me the first day that I was supposed to go that I couldn't make it across the country. And I said well, that's fine, I'm going commercial. ... I'm not asking to go on that plane. If you need to take me there for security purposes, you're going to have to get a plane that goes across the country, because I'm going home to my family. ... I'm happy to go commercial. But they want me to go on this plane, so the issue was distance, not size. And again, it's not about having a plane. It's about having transportation. These planes are used for other purposes in between trips, which are, you know, take place once or twice a week, going or coming. So, it isn't about that. But there are probably those in the Department of Defense who are not happy with my criticism of Secretary Rumsfeld, the war in Iraq, other waste, fraud and abuse in the Defense Department and I guess this is their way of making their voices heard. But it has nothing to do, as I say, with the president of the United States. He has encouraged my having the security I need.

lol...isn't it funny that we never even knew the rules changed after 9/11, until a democrat became speaker? Seriously, people here actually think that she requested it (she didn't ) , that it is for her family( they have to pay standard rates) that she will use it for her political agenda (not allowed) and that she is asking for any other reason than to GET HOME IN ONE TRIP. I am a middle class working american, and I fly non stop to my destinations. She is not elitest, she is not asking for anything, and the whitehouse has come out and told the reps to back off on this one.

Pelosi deserves the same treatment that Hastert had as House Speaker. I'm against her use of a big, private plane as much as I was against it when Hastert was using it. This is all just a show and not for security reasons.

You must be kidding.

I believe congress during 9-11 was Republican...both houses!

In addition, you can't believe that maintaining the security for senior Government Officials is anything less than acting responsibly.

Anyone who believes otherwise is brainwashed by the spin monkeys.

She's in the same authority, so I don't see why it's a problem. It'd be just like somebody bashing Bush for using the same plane and entertainment of Clinton.
