My daughter was born in PA.
The biological father took a powder when I was 3 mos pregnant.
I didn't even put his name on the BC.
The hospital had me fill out the paperwork during pre-admission and I just left it blank.
Even without him there, I could have put his name on it, he wouldn't have had to sign it. I just chose to leave that section blank.

I do not think there is any laws any where that can force a person to sign....BUT THERE SHOULD NOT BE A LAW TO MAKE A "MAN" SIGN "HIS" CHILD'S BC. OUT OF LOVE AND RESPECT FOR BOTH THE CHILD AND THE WIFE HE SHOULD WANT TO.

I can only speak for Texas, and here the husband does not need to sign a birth certificate- he is automatically presumed to be the father.

If you're married the state automatically assumes you are the father and puts your name on the birth certificate.

No he doesn't have to sign anything if he doesn't want to. But if he's the father I don't see why he wouldn't want t o sign it.
