Got to be Pujols. Why not other contenders?

Santana - sorry, no pitcher is a first pick candidate unless playing in a league with unusual categories.

Soriano - OK, he moves to a hitter friendly park, in a powerful lineup, and can steal bases too. BUT- didn't he play in Texas before (hitter's park with a big lineup)? Will he really be stealing bases as much (I doubt it -injury risk). The more important question here is will he continue to produce now that he got his big contract (history says no). I think he should be about a 4th or 5th pick .

Howard - One year does not make a superstar! However, I think he will continue at last years pace and that is damn good. Second or third pick.

A-Rod - Will this be the "big breakout year?" How many times does a child stick his hand in fire before he knows he'll get burned? However, I'd bet there is still a guy in the Bronx that will bet his paycheck that this is the year.....put him even with Soriano, but has tougher position to fill.

Reyes - Will likely win you SBs and is good (not great) in several categories, but that won't win you a competitive league.

Pujols is the safest pick. Some like Howard but I like him to do it again b4 I would pick him 1st. Soriano has ppl's interest because of his 50-50 potential. Could happen because of the smaller ball park. Stealing 50? Possible but he has to get on base a little more than he has in the past. Can't go wrong w/all 3. Don't forget A-Rod. W/all those hitters in that lineup,he due 4 a monster season

Pujols BY FAR.

It's like asking who everyone is going to take 1st in their NFL Fantasy draft next year. Obviously LaDanian Tomlinson, so why ask?

The real question is.. who do u pick 2 - 10 or 2 -5.

If you want the best hitter - Pujols

If you want the best player - Johan Santana

It all depends on the format of your league. Some leagues value pitching more than hitting b/c their aren't many dominant SP out there.

If its just a Roto league - take Pujols

If its a Points league - look at how much the point values are for Strikeouts, Win's, CG, ERA compared to HR, RBI, BB, etc....

Santana is a monster is pitching based leagues.

If it is a money league I say Pujols - virtually no risk short of injury. He's gonna be money if he is in the line up.
If it is for braggin' rights against my friends - I would take a risk on ......... D. Lee of the Cubs. I think he goes +.300, 40 HR, 100, RBIs, 100 Runs, 35 steals. Plus a gold glove (no points for that though). The down side is that he is on an injury rebound year and I could very easily be full of baloney on this one. I can't wait -- hurry up April!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soriano is not a 5 category monster. Under no circumstances is Soriano higher than the 5th pick of the draft. Anyone who takes Soriano in the first four picks is a fool.

The only two options for the first pick are Pujols or Santana.

Everyone is probably goin' to say this but, I would take Albert Pujols. He had 394 fantasy points last year and he can do anything. He'll be a deciding factor for a lot of teams.

Albert Pujols. The man is a fantasy baseball god.

I call...

.330 AVG
40 HR
130 RBI
20 SB

At minimum.

Albert Pujols, that dude jacks home runs like nobodies business and picks up tons of rbis, has a decent avg, and will carry ur team to the playoffs

PUJOLS, why is this even a question? He is the best player in the league every year. He hits for avg, HR, Rbi. Stop asking these silly questions. If you have the first pick and you take anyone other than Pujols, you can consider yourself...... uninformed.
