im 18 im a normal girl,i used to have friends at my old highschool which i have known since elementary school .guys would always talk 2 me and girls would try to be like me ,the problem was they were all bad friends which only drink ,smokeweed,and ditch school also party to much.i didnt want that for me and they saw a big change in me and lost interest in me ,they didnt hang out with me much and said i was becoming a geek that i only think about my grades,dont want 2 party. so i transfered 2 another school but i dont know how 2 make friends their .i want 2 finish highschool ,go 2 college .i want friend who think like me,my family say i am 2 serious and i grew up 2 fast ,i dont think like that i want 2 have fun go out but with the right people .what can i do 2 make friend who think like me .im not stuck up at all ,i just dont know how 2 make new friend or were 2 meet new people.help please.i forgot how 2 be social ,im friendly but dont know how 2 be outgoing any advice or tips. thankyou

you know, im like you. i used to walk around and my head towards the floor because i didn't know how to meet new poeple. but then when i'd enter my classes for instance, i'd look at people around me ,and smile at them saying hi and stuff. so in their turns, whenever they saw me, they'd say hi. and now we talk and stuff. after that i learned to stop being closed up becasue the people i know rnt going to be there forever. we have to try to open up to people, and introduce ourselves, maybe it wud work :D

Start going to self-help meetings like in the movie "Fight Club" and get to meet some really interesting people. I go to AA meetings with a friend and jokingly say to him after the meeting, "Drinks on me!" just loud enough for the woman next to him to hear and use that as an ice-breaker to find women for my friend. I am engaged but I still like to have fun and clown around with others. I could also suggest joining some afterschool clubs or sports to get to know other people. You would be amazed how easy it is to find new people to meet at hotel seminars. Dress nicely, crash a few events, blend in and mingle with the others.

Though it might be weird at first, try to find someone that acts just a bit like you, even though not exactly, and you try to act like him/her. Try to talk to that person when the opportunity seems right. It shouldn't be hard to know what to say because if that person really is similar to you, then whatever you tell them, they'll be interested in as well.

Try to join clubs in college. Take classes that involve you to interact with other people such as new paper writing class or film editing class. Also, introduce yourself to people, let them know who you are. Be more talkative! There are tons of things you can do to be more sociable.
