China is a rapidly growing economy, but how much power or enery do they consume every day, week, year?

I really need a figure (can be average or estimate) and a source for this thanks.

China consumes about 2,000 watts of energy per year per person. The U.S. consumes about 11,400 watts per year per person. Japan consumes about 6,000 watts per year per person as does Germany. Canada is the world leader in energy consumption per person at about 13,400 watts per year.

In my three and a half years living in China, I have noticed that the Chinese do not waste energy in the way that North Americans do. Even though they live in uninsulated homes, they almost never turn on the air conditioning or heater no matter how uncomfortable they are. They wear two layers of long johns under their clothes and two sweaters and sometimes even a jacket INDOORS. Most Chinese travel by walking, bicycle and bus. Things are changing but it will be decades before they join Canada and the U.S. as mega-wasters of energy.
