Depending on your weight gain during your pregnancy, you might not need to do anymore shopping! However, most women aren't like that. If you're concerned about your expenses as your belly expands, I'll let you know what I've been doing. I'm 6 months along and have resorted to buying pants with a stretchy waist band instead of maternity pants. They fit me fine. I bought a roll of elastic so I can sew in a bigger waist line if need be, and it's cheap! I can still fit into my jeans, but I can't button them so I loop a hair elastic through the button hole and secure it around the button. Of course, this requires me to wear a shirt that covers up that area. I've invested in a few maternity tank tops so I can wear them undearneath my button down shirts without buttoning, or simply wear a layered look. Also, I'm always on the look out for great sales in maternity sections (I recently purchased shirts for $6 each at Motherhood Maternity). Enjoy your pregnancy and wear whatever makes you most comfortable, because at this point in life, you might need a lot to feel beautiful as your belly protrudes more and more.

Are you talking about the one's with the band all the way around rather than the full front panel?

Yes I used that kind my last pregnancy and they lasted me all the way through, the biggest problem was my shirts stopped covering my belly, and I couldn't pull the pants up as far as a full panel pant so I ended up wearing a jacket out in public most of the time.

I hated the pants with the big belly panel... totally useless, they just slip off your hips. The maternity pants with the wide, strong waistbands worked fairly well... and I was able to use them well into the 8th month. In my last month all I could wear were comfy sweats, or yoga pants.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and I was excited to try the 'no belly' pants but I HATE THEM!!! I am 7 months along and they are so uncomfortable - I don't know where the waist line should be and I never wear them! I think they are good for the first weeks when you are transitioning to larger clothes but I don't think they are good for the later weeks.

I bought a pair on clearance for 1.97 which was awesome but they only lasted until I was 6 1/2 months but I was also bigger than I should have been through my whole pregnancy so they may last you but they didn't last my whole pregnancy.

I love these type of jeans! I wore them all through pregnancy, they are very comfortable. I only gained about 15 lbs and it was all belly and these jeans worked out great for me. I will be buying capri's in this style because I will be pregnant through summer this time.
