This is what I did. When I was installing itunes, it gave me an option of automatic sync music to my ipod or not. I chose no. This made it so I can put each track to my ipod manually.

If you havn't done this, I know you can change the setting using itunes 7. When you have your ipod plugged, click on the little pic of your ipod, go to music in the top toolbar, de-select 'sync music'. You prob be able to change the settings using older versions of itunes as I remember your problem happening to me when I first bought my ipod but I did something and it stopped.

1st of all you need itunes 7.02 plug your ipod in and theres an option in the middle of the screen saying auto sync uncheck that box and check the manual sync. That should do it. Then try to do a manual sync with your ipod.

depending on which idop you have got is how you stop it. Most of them only put a bit of music on at certain times and make sure you dont put to much on or it will not work right.

Try connecting it to a different computer and see if it does that.
