White vinegar and cold water. Add between 1/2 and 1 cup (depending on the size of the overall wash load) into the rinse water dispenser and use a cold water wash, every time you wash. The vinegar will set the color and keep it from bleeding on to other clothing. Every third wash or so, add more vinegar to the rinse water when you launder the garment. Either allow the garment to air dry or use the air dry/delicate cycle on the dryer to prevent shrinkage.

The best product I have found is Woolite for darks. I think it is great. Also, special items that I really want to keep looking new, I never dry, believe it or not heat from the dryer can cause fading as much as washing--if not more. Prevent shrinking by letting things air dry as well-- shrinkage happens in the dryer!

i recognize darkish wash denims and that i continuously had that exact same concern. i purely wash mine interior out and then dangle them to dry and they don't look to vanish. then i purely toss them contained in the dryer for 5-10 minutes afer they're already dry to lead them to not as stiff.
