I think that my b.f. might have taken my baby's s.s. card because I had it somewhere, and he seen it. A couple days later, it went missing, and when I told him about it he just shrugged it off and said, " You need to start being more responsible for your things, especially something like that." But he was the only one who knew where it was besides me. I don't know what to think. It would really hurt me bad to find out that I'm right.

What can he use it for if my son is a baby of 6 months, will it do him any good?

Report the missing card to Social Security, and kick BF to the curb. Blaming the victim is the classic first line a liar uses...

I don't know how much good it would do him to have the card. Get into his wallet while he's sleeping, or maybe his glove box and see if it's there (but only if you don't think there will be any violent consequences!)
If you have turned the house upside down and can't find it, contact your local police department and file a report. If anything does turn up later with your baby's social security number on it, you will have that police report to back you up. Then you can get a new card. I don't know how much good the card would do him, other than credit-related things like cards and loans.

You say he is an immigrant. Immigrant's have some legal status here and would have no need to get a SS card. I think you mean to say he is ILLEGAL. Make him go back to where he came from illegally and try to become legal.

Yeah he can still buy things in your baby's name even though hes only 6 monts old. I suggest you try running your baby's credit!

*usually once the company finds out that the SS# belongs to a minor, they will disconnect or discontinue services. Good luck!

the big fear would be the use of a valid SSN to apply for credit, immigration documents etc. Apply for a duplicate card, take better care of it. Drop a dime on him to the INS if hes illegal, you dont trust him now so lets get rid of him.
