The State is one big joke...and when u say Christians that is a word most people only hide behind...The state is out to make money and money only...I myself have been an activist for many years know evey code and statue for all states...Most CPS/AGENTS AND SOCIAL AGENTS are not real this is their bread and butter..Foster-Care should be for children without any family...We are in a crisis in this Country and I think every child need to be with his or her family not strangers...When a child is taken out of parents home they should be place with responsible family member with STRICT guidelines....Hate to say this but our churches are not like it was when I was growing up...some of them are no better than the common thief on the streets (facts) they are having outside affairs, out-side children, caught abusing drugs also taped soliciting prostitues and minor boys and girls..CHRISTIANS is just a word this day....You have to practice what you preach...
The system has fail our children in this country and it is our responsibility do something about it the Government system has fail already we as citizens must do it.
If you take the time to see thousands of documented cases of CPS/AGENTS AND SOCIAL WORKERS all across america who has lied to keep children in foster care or place for adoption you might learn something...
Go on your web type in many names such as family rights or grandparents or abuse or cps/agents or social workers the cases are there..
You will be surprise of the thousand of organizations out their in this country with horror stories of our SYSTEM.
And if you think for one minute our Politicians are concern, think again we have been their and done that..That is one of the reasons we are planning national televised rally this country has to know what is going on.

You can thank FDR.
He was the one who brought into our collective thinking that the government knows best for you.
Churches were told to stay out of social programs and they did except oversea.
There are lots of Christians churches who support mission not only over seas but here too.
Adoption kind of has problem when the birth mother comes back after years and takes the kid back. So parents who want to adopt go overseas.
So we kind of cook our own goose in that matter too.
FYI: Conservative Christians give more in time and money than liberals do to chairties. Maybe some liberals need to start walk the walk instead of talk the talk.

Because this nation has a nice system called the seperation of church and state. That means that the church can not take a child out of the home. To "share the wisdom" of god is to go against the fact that not all people are christian and that you are pushing your beliefs on other people. Just so you know it was the christians that killed people in the past, the Christian faith isn't all lovey dovey, don't forget that.

There are initiatives in place to do faith based recruitment in a lot of areas. My state foster parents association has materials specifically designed for this cause. The state will always be involved, however, because ultimately they are responsible for seeing that the children are not locked up in some orphanage and warehoused as has happened in the past.

The state has gone out of its way to place so many restrictions on this kind of activity that it is almost impossible to be in compliance unless you have a source of income - meaning for-profit companies or the state itself (which can always dip into the taxpayers pocket). It is very difficult for churches to become a foster agency directly.
What churches *can* do is organize and support members of the congregation who apply to become foster parents through the usual channels.

I do not know who you are, but is like the word of God pour out of you mouth. You are right. People are Christian only to be called Christian, but they do not practice Christ. Many think that by sitting at home and handing out money suffice. But I will tell you though I am not catholic, this church do run orphanages all over the world and free clinics where nuns are nurses. In the US. these used to be prevalent until the 1950 s I believe, but it is still prevalent in underdeveloped countries around the world. But you are so right if each of us did our part by getting down and getting our hands dirty God will be more please. You have me thinking. Thanks.

Because whenever Christians try to help, the left wing liberals start shouting about separation of church and state. Then they accuse the want-to-be caregivers of wanting to indoctrinate them with their religion. Can't allow the 10 commandments to be taught.
