Vietnam was invaded by Japan in World War Two. Then it was taken over by France. They left and China and Russia were helping the Vietnamese communists try to take over. That is why the US got involved. It was a noble cause. It didn't matter that the South Vietnamese government was so rotten. Better than the communists.
Oil is only one reason for the war in Iraq. Are you saying oil isn't important in the world? LOL
The war in Iraq is part of the war on terror. Toppling Arab dictatorships is how you end international terrorism. Do you have a better plan?
Saddam was unbelievably bad. Would you prefer he was still in power?
Or are you just saying "I hate America"?

Do you know Anything about our oil economics and where we import it from? Anything? Try taking a class and educate yourself before posting. The oil imports from the middle east is a very very small % of what we import. We get most of ours from Canada, Mexico and Venezuela. Still trying to draw a parallel with Vietnam?? Left wing nut!

Well, the Vietnam war was fought for roughly 10 years, and who knows how many innocent people the Communists killed before, during and after.

I think that depends on who our future President is and what his views are. If we can get an honest, for-the-people president, can you even imagine? It'd be living in Heaven. But no, we wouldn't still be in Vietnam. We were overpowered, we lost the war. And those poor soldiers coming home were so ashamed of themselves. And our government let that happen!
